There is a fabric & sewing pattern company called Merchant & Mills whose aesthetic you might appreciate (@merchantandmills) and they use more diverse models than most in both size and age.
But generally speaking, it does seem that you are only allowed to be old if you are also thin, particularly if you have silver hair. Apparently the world can only accept one non-conformity at a time!
There was an artist, an older woman, in the neighborhood where I used to live, who wore knickers every day. Why not? To find your signature style, that works practically for your lifestyle, that you enjoy, with disregard for other’s opinions or side eye—brave and smart.
I love this! Also, do you know about minalistmachinist on IG? I love her style and the way she dresses and thinks about clothing/getting dressed. Also fatbobbingirl. (Okay, maybe all the style influencers I’m into right now are in the making community, but I suspect that’s because there’s more freedom there.)
